Aubrey Anderson-Emmons is famous for playing “Lily” in the successful ABC situation comedy, “Modern Family.”
But just as he has moved away from his television character, the actor of real life is now changing his name for a new career change and assuming the identity of Frances Anderson.
“Frances is actually part of my legal name: it is my second name, and it is after the old friend of my mother’s family,” Anderson-Emmons said to e! News last week. “I thought, one was a little shorter than ‘Aubrey Anderson-Mmons’. I have a long last name and scripts.
He added that he also “wanted to change it and wanted people to see a new side of me.”
“And I wanted to create a space specifically for music,” explained the 18 -year -old. “And I am very excited that everyone listens to the songs in the EP, and I am very grateful.”

Anderson’s first EP, called “Drown,” was released last week.
Anderson opened more about his transition from acting to music in an interview with Mundane Mag.
“I began to act at four o’clock and worked quite consistently until I was twelve years old,” he shared an article, published last week.
“It was not a violent entrance in the industry, it was honestly well. But when you are a child, you don’t really choose that path,” Anderson added. “You still don’t have much autonomy or self -discipline, and you are surrounded by adults. That may be isolating. There are no children of my age in the set. There are no friends.”
