Joe Exotic seems to be marking the beginning of a new chapter while staying behind bars.
The “Tiger King” star, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, announced Monday night on social networks that he and Jorge Flores, a prisoner, had married.
“I have never been more proud of someone,” Exotic wrote in X, previously Twitter, along with a photo of him and flowers to match. “Meet my husband Jorge Flores Maldonado.”
The authenticity of the photo has not been verified. Similarly, a representative of the Federal Office of Public Affairs of the Federal Prison Office could not confirm that Exotic and Flores had married, and told the entertainment weekly in a statement: “We do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any person under our custody.”
Exoticero, exotic, is serving a 21 -year sentence for trying to hire a SATE to kill his rival Carole Baskin, in addition to numerous federal violations of wildlife. He is currently imprisoned at the Federal Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas, where he is being treated for prostate cancer.

Exotic’s case was the theme of the Netflix documentary series nominated for Emmy “Tiger King”, which captivated the spectators during the first days of the Covid-19 Pandemia in 2020. He broke the news of his commitment in X in October last year.
“Meeting Jorge Márquez, he is 33 years old. He is so incredible and is from Mexico,” he wrote at that time. “Now, the search to marry prison and get asylum or go from America when we both leave.”
He continued observing: “Anyway, I would like to have known him a long time.”
In an interview with EW shortly after committing himself, Exotic described Flores as “a very surprising young man,” and added: “We love each other a lot, we spent every minute of the day together.”
Exotic previously married Travis Maldonado, who died in 2017 at age 23. From 2017 to 2023, he married Dillon Passage, who appeared prominently in “Tiger King”.
In recent months, Exotic has been actively looking for a forgiveness of President Donald Trump through a lawyer.
