On Saturday, President Donald Trump continued to criticize the media after criticizing “terrible reporting” about his ongoing war with Iran, sharing a graphic on his Truth Social platform celebrating its impact on press freedom in the United States.

“PRESIDENT TRUMP IS REFORMING THE MEDIA,” the image declared.

The unabashedly triumphant graphic was divided into three sections. One showed how many experts have “MISSED” from their previous positions following Trump’s re-election, including former CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta and former MSNBC anchor Joy Reid.

The section also celebrated the “mass layoffs” at The Washington Post and that outlets like NPR and PBS have been “defunded,” in addition to applauding the “huge drop” in television news ratings, and that the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” has been canceled.

Trump launched major combat operations in Iran late last month, resulting in the deaths of at least 13 American service members and more than 1,400 Iranians, including dozens of schoolgirls, but on Saturday he seemed very concerned in the media.

He shared his graphic less than two hours after attacking “the fake news media” in a long speech on Truth Social that claimed that The New York Times, Wall Street Journal and other “small-time newspapers and outlets” want the United States to “lose” the war.

He also continued to tout so-called victories over the press in the “REFORMS” section of his chart, including such whims as: “Social Booming Truth,” “Most Accessible POTUS Ever,” “Free Speech at X,” and “Disney Ends Key DEI Practices.”

It also said: “Record-Setting Interviews” and “First POTUS to Join NFL Broadcast.”

The final section was titled simply “WIN.” It featured an image of TIME magazine’s November 2025 cover.after Trump’s re-election, and the title of an article in The Guardian which warned: “Trump is waging a war on the media and winning.”

As of Saturday afternoon, Acosta appears to be the only journalist mentioned in the graphic who has commented on it publicly. The host cheekily wrote on X on Friday: “It’s an honor to be included here. But seriously, what’s wrong with this guy? This is kind of ridiculous.”

Trump has attacked journalists and “fake news” organizations for nearly a decade, regularly brandishing the phrase as a one-size-fits-all response to unfavorable coverage. This has apparently gotten worse as the war against Iran continues to escalate.
