70 legal experts have a complaint against Pam Bondi, citing
Approximately 70 law professors, lawyers and judges filed a complaint of ethics against Attorney General Pam Bondi with the Florida Bar Association on Thursday, accusing her of “serious professional misconduct” and a political bias in favor of President Donald Trump.
The complaint alleges that the former Attorney General of Florida has worked to assemble the Department of Justice by threatening the lawyers of the department with discipline or termination but “do not” jealously pursue the political objectives of the president. ”
The lawyers of the Department of Justice say that Bondi and their staff have pressed them to “violate their ethical obligations” and that they do things that are “ethically prohibited.” This has resulted in “serious professional misconduct that threatens the rule of law and the administration of justice,” says the complaint, obtained by News themezone and first reported by the Miami Herald.
Francisco Digon-Greer, lawyer of the Florida Bar Association, dismissed the complaint in a letter on Friday, saying that the institution does not investigate or process the officials designated under the constitution of the United States while they are in office. “
“Such procedures of the Florida Bar Association, as an arm of the Supreme Court of Florida, could invade the authority of the federal government about these officials and the exercise of their duties,” said his letter.
Dozens of legal experts, including the judges retired from the Supreme Court of Florida, Barbara J. Relatiente and Peggy A. fifteen, had signed the complaint, which demanded an investigation and sanctions against Bondi.
It was the third complaint that the group presented against Bondi, and the third denied due to its current work state.

Possibly anticipating another rejection, the authors of the complaint said on Thursday that the states are responsible for supervising who can practice the law in their respective jurisdictions and discipline them.
“The rules not only require that lawyers who are public officials be responsible for their ethical conduct, but specifically declare that lawyers who are public officials have a higher duty than other lawyers to maintain ethical standards,” they argued, citing the rules of professional conduct of the Florida College. “Any part of the rules or comments there is an exemption for lawyers who are federal public officials.”
The complaint cites “three obvious examples” as evidence of the supposed misconduct of Bondi, including the dismissal in April of the immigration lawyer Erez Reuveni. Reuveni was fired after telling a judge that the deportation of the government of the migrant Kilmar Armando Abrego GarcĂa to El Salvador was made with an “error.” He was expelled, according to the complaint, “for telling the truth.”
He also quotes the “forced resignation” of federal prosecutor Denise Cheung in February after rejected the request of Trump’s officials to open a criminal investigation to a government contractor “because there was no insufficient preaching.” The third example is the efforts of the Department of Justice to dismiss the criminal accusation of the Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, without prejudice. Almost a dozen lawyers who opposed the proposal of the Department of Justice, calling it an inappropriate “Quid Pro quo”, were forced to resign or resign after being placed on administrative license, according to the complaint.
An official of the Department of Justice dismissed the complaint as without merit to News themezone.
“The Florida Bar Association has twice rejected the performative attempts of these lawyers outside the state of assembling the complaint process against AG Bondi,” said the chief of Cabinet of the DOJ, Chad Mizelle, in a statement. “This third irritating attempt will do nothing more than to demonstrate that the signatories have less intelligence, and independent thoughts, than the sheep.”
Bondi, a firm Trump’s loyal, served as the president’s special advisor during his first political trial and supported his efforts to deny his 2020 electoral defeat against Joe Biden. During her confirmation audience in January, she refused to recognize her defeat.
Since his appointment as the main lawyer of the nation, Bondi has put himself on Trump’s side in each controversial and constitutionally questionable order and has publicly promised to “eradicate” anyone within the DOJ and the FBI “who despise Donald Trump.”
Bondi presented himself as an independent prosecutor during his confirmation hearing of the Senate of January 15, saying that “politics will not play a role” by deciding who to investigate and that she would exercise an independent trial.

“Politics has to be taken from this system,” he said. “This department has been armed for years and years and years, and has to stop.”
Trump ordered Bondi on Wednesday and other federal officials to investigate the Biden administration and the health of his predecessor while they were in office.
