Israeli military accused of using Palestinians as human shields
Seven Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers have also accused Israel’s army of using human shields in Gaza, supposedly sending people to buildings and tunnels to verify if there are bombs and armed men, the AP reports. They said that the practice, which is prohibited by international law, has become omnipresent during 19 months of war.
In March, News themezone reported similar accusationseven an Israeli soldier whose explanation of the tactics used in Gaza raised some serious questions.
“We have burned buildings without reasons, which is violating international law, of course,” he told News themezone. “… and we use human shields as protection.”
