The actor Alon Aboutboul is dead after collapse on a beach in Tel Aviv, Israel on Tuesday, agent Mark Teitelbaum confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.

About Abeul, known for papers in films like “Munich”, “The Dark Knight Rises” and “London has fallen”, was 60 years old.

In a statement to THR, Teitelbaum said: “Alon was a brilliant actor, a true artist, an Israeli icon … But most importantly, he was a loving father of his four children and a dear friend of mine and many others.”

“It had a moral and spiritual clarity that is rare to find,” the statement continued. “As you can imagine, your family is in a state of shock. We will miss it deeply. May your memory be a blessing.”

A witness account translated from Israeli Ynet communication by The Evening Standard said Queboul had been swimming in the ocean on Dor Habonyim beach of Tel Aviv when he left the water, asked for help and then collapsed.

“It happened in an instant. He entered the water and everything seemed perfectly well,” said another spectator.

“After a few minutes, suddenly he left the water, approached people and said he didn’t feel good, and then asked for help,” they continued.

“Everyone was really scared. He left the water and collapsed on the beach. Everyone wanted to help, and recognized who it was when he left the water. This is a terrible tragedy here this morning, everyone here is in a state of shock.”

According to reports, Goul received CPR, but could not be revived. The exact cause of death is not yet clear.

Other outstanding projects include “Body of Lies” by director Ridley Scott and “Homeland” of the television series, “Twin Peaks”, “The Leftovers” and “Snowfall.”

About his wife, Shir Bilia, and his four children survive.
