Denzel Perryman’s arrest for serious crime weapons charges could shake the defensive plans of the chargers

The Los Angeles chargers supporter, Denzel Perryman, remained behind bars on Saturday after he was arrested for arms charges, authorities said.
The Los Angeles sheriff agents said multiple weapons were discovered during a traffic stop on Friday.
At least two of the weapons found are classified as assault weapons, according to the police.

“On August 1, 2025, at 9:30 pm, the agents of the Southern Los Angeles station made a traffic stop at the Los Angeles Chargers soccer player, Denzel Perryman, 32, for violations of the vehicle code,” said the Sheriff’s department in a statement.
“During the traffic stop, the agents discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were assault style rifles.”

The NFL veteran was cooperative with the authorities during the traffic stop, according to an incident report.
Perryman was reserved for serious crime charges shortly after 10 pm, according to records. He is detained without bail at the Sheriff Station in southern Los Angeles, confirmed the Sheriff’s department.

Ron Butler, a Perryman agent, said the Pro Bowl defender was in contact with legal experts.
“Denzel and our team are still collecting information and working closely with the legal advisor,” Butler told ESPN. “While I can’t talk to the details at this time, we are sure that things will be managed properly through the legal process.”

Perryman is scheduled to appear at Inglewood Court on Tuesday, Sheriff’s department said.
“We are aware of an issue that involves Denzel and we are collecting information,” the team said in a statement.

Perryman played for the 2017-20 Chargers and returned to the team in 2024. Perryman also had periods with the Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders.
