What if your dog had a dating profile? Or did your cat appear for Brunch with your friends? Thanks to a viral Tiktok trend, thousands of pet lovers are asking the AI to reinvest their pets as people, and the results are surprisingly romantic.
A recent survey asked 1,000 Americans how deeply they connect with their pets. Some of the answers are sweet. Others? A little wild. But together, they paint an image of a link that goes beyond the friction and belly toys.

He turned pets into people and the owners fell in love
Imagine uploading a photo of your dog and recovering a lovely and chiseled man in a flannel. That is exactly what some pet parents did, and the results woke up more than laughs.
- 31% of the people who proved the trend said they would go out with the human generated by their pet.
- Millennials and Gen X were the most likely to say yes to love.
- Even cats caught attention, 45% of the owners of major cats found their versions of the datables.
Even so, not everyone saw romantic sparks. Almost 40% of the owners said their pet would be a “red flag to walk” as a person. Think: jealous, regrets or moods unpredictable (looking at you, tigüantes cats).
Pets offer real emotional support, sometimes better than people
It is not just the game time and fun filters. Many pet owners trust their animals for comfort and company more than any human relationship.
- 77% say that their pet provides better emotional support than its ex.
- 38% trust their pet than their closest friend or partner.
- More than half says “I love you” your pet several times a day.
Generation Z directed the emotional burden, with 43% of them saying that they rely on their pets more than anyone in their lives. For many, this connection began or deepened during the pandemic, and has not faded since then.

Putting pets first in real life
The love for pets does not stop at Cuddles. Form budgets, routines and even relationships.
- 66% put the needs of their pets ahead.
- 81% refuse to go out with someone who does not like their animal.
- 87% would renounce the apartment of their dreams if they were not friendly for pets.
Pet parents also spend large: an average of $ 180 per month in everything from food and toys to birthday costumes and gifts. General Z defeats more at $ 200 monthly. And in some homes, pets even exceed couples: 45% of women said they prioritize their pets about their partner when it comes to spending.
When pets decide where and how you live
If he has ever canceled the plans because his dog looked sad, he is not alone.
- 54% have skipped the exits to keep their pet.
- 46% plan the holidays around their animals.
- 42% choose apartments based on PET compatibility.
Some lead it even further: 6% ended relations on conflict related to PET. Another 5% rejected job offers that did not accommodate their pet. From remote work to pet insurance and emergency care, the owners expect more and more employers’ pets. Almost half would give up a week of vacation paid to get help with invoices of emergency veterinarians.
