Kelly Clarkson’s ex -husband, Brandon Blackstock, died of cancer, confirmed multiple media on Thursday. He was 48 years old.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has died,” said a family representative to People in a statement.

“Brandon fought bravely in cancer for more than three years. He died peacefully and was surrounded by a family. We appreciate his thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time.”

Clarkson and Blackstock share two children: River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9 years old. The former couple was married for almost seven years before dividing in 2020.

Blackstock also has two children, Savannah and Seth, of a previous marriage. He became a grandfather in 2022, according to People.

Blackstock, who was once the former country of country Great Reba Mcentire, worked as talent manager.

The news about Blackstock is a shock, since it was not previously known that I was sick until yesterday.

Clarkson announced Wednesday that she postponed her residence in Las Vegas because her ex -husband was sick.

“While I normally maintain my personal life in private, last year, my children’s father has been sick and at this time, I need to be completely present for them,” he said at that time, he added that “sincerely regrets all those who bought tickets for shows.”

Clarkson had previously postponed his residence in Las Vegas before his debut in July, citing vocal concerns.

He was also remarkably absent from his interview program earlier this year, although he never publicly revealed why.
