An Islamic Court of Shariah in the conservative province of Aceh in Indonesia sentenced two men to the public stab 80 times each after the Islamic religious police caught them involved in what the court considered that they were sexual acts.
The trial in the district court of the Islamic Shariah in Banda Aceh, the provincial capital, was held behind closed doors. The judges have the authority to limit public access to a trial if the case is related to adultery and open it only for the verdict.

The 20 and 21 -year -old couple was arrested in April after the residents saw them enter the same bathroom in Taman Sari City Park in Aceh Band and informed the Sharia police, patrolling the area. The police broke into the bathroom and caught men kissing and hugging, that the court considered a sexual act.
Aceh is considered more devoted than other areas of the Muslim majority of Indonesia and is the only province that is allowed to observe a version of the Islamic law of the Shariah.
Monday’s verdict was the fifth time that Aceh condemned people to a public apple for homosexuality since the Islamic law was implemented in 2015 as a concession made by the Government to end a long -standing separatist rebellion.
The National Criminal Code of Indonesia does not regulate homosexuality, and the central government does not have the power to demolish the Shariah law in Aceh.
