Instagram Friend Map Feature Sparks Privacy Questions

Instagram has introduced three new features to help him share more easily with friends: map of friends, repost and a tab of friends in the reels. While all three are designed to increase the connection, one in particular, the map of friends, has caused some erroneous privacy concepts.
While the friends map has been well received by some, it is also feeding online erroneous concepts. Publications on social networks have disseminated the confusion about whether they share their live location by default, which causes questions about how much control it really has.

Publish your favorite content
The new Publish again The function allows you to share public reels and feed publications directly with your followers. Their repetitions appear both in their feeds and in a dedicated tab in their profile, which facilitates the review of their favorites.

Explore and share with the friends map
Map of Friends It allows you to choose to share your last active location with a select group of friends. You can choose between options such as Friends Yous that follow, close friends or a personalized list. You can also activate the location by sharing at any time.
Privacy matters here. A target spokesman told us:
“The Instagram map is extinguished by default, and its live location is never shared unless you choose to turn it on. If you do, only the people who follow, or a private and personalized list that you select, you can see your location.”

The Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri also clarified that labeling a location in his history only shares that place with his followers for 24 hours, does not reveal his location in real time.
If you are a father with enabled supervision tools, you will be notified if your teenager turns on the exchange of locations. You can also disable the function for them.
Location updates occur when the application opens or returns to it from the bottom. Beyond the exchange of locations, the map also allows you to explore stories, reels and notes labeled with a location of friends and creators that follow.
