Dolly Parton offered a tender message of comfort to the loved ones of Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager who died of skin cancer last week at the age of 48.

Blackstock was the ex -husband of Kelly Clarkson and former Dominstro de Reba Mcentire.

Apartony, who lost her husband, Carl Thomas Dean, in March, was asked by Entertainment tonight on Monday if she had a word of comfort for Clarkson and Mcentire. Although he revealed that he has not yet had the opportunity to talk to them directly, their affection for both women was evident.

“I think you just have to be grateful for the years you have had with someone, and you just try to remember the best of all that,” said Parton. “Take their energy that they had given you then, and you will only recycle that, and make that become part of you. Simply honor your memory and just know they are in a better place than us these days.”

Blackstock died on August 7, three years after being diagnosed with skin cancer. One day before his death, Clarkson postponed the rest of his residence dates in Las Vegas, citing personal reasons.

“While I normally maintain my personal life in private, last year, my children’s father has been sick and at this time, I need to be completely present for them,” he shared in an Instagram post. “I sincerely regret all those who bought tickets for shows and appreciate both their grace, kindness and understanding.”
