A Hollywood star rejected Trump
Donald Trump’s original plans for Tom Cruise to receive an honor from the Kennedy center was not as the president expected.
Cruise rejected it, the Washington Post reported, saying that “He was offered the honors, but refused due to programming conflicts. ”
A Cruise spokesman did not respond to News’s request for comments.
Trump presented on Wednesday to the five honoree: the legend of the Gloria Gaynor disco, the country singer George Strait, the Rock Kiss band, the actor “Rocky” Sylvester Stallone and the actor-Singer Michael Crawford.
According to News, Trump said he had no interest in organizing the annual event, but he is doing it after being invited.

Gaynor’s nomination caused debate on Thursday when the “The View” coanfrerion, Ana Navarro, urged the singer to reject him, citing Trump’s treatment of marginalized groups.
“Look, the woman is a goddess and deserves all the flowers that are presented to her,” Navarro wrote in an Instagram subtitle that day. “But I wish I did not accept an award from the hands of a man who has attacked the rights and history of women, people of color and LGBTQ.”

While announcing the honorees on Wednesday, Trump said he was “very involved” in the selection of this year’s participants.
“I would say I was involved around 98%. Everyone passed me for me,” Trump said. “I said a lot. They were too awakened. I had a pair of Wokesters. Now, we have great people. This is very different from what it used to be, very different.”
