Daniel Jones de Colts wins the field market competition over Anthony Richardson

The Indianapolis Colts announced the winner of their Quarterback competition on Tuesday.
Chief coach Shane Steichen said at a press conference that Daniel Jones will be the team’s holding seafood in week 1 when they face the Miami Dolphins. Jones beat the former general selection No. 4 Anthony Richardson for work.
“It’s our starting field marshal for the season,” Steichen said through the Colts website. “I don’t want to have a quick strap on that. I feel sure of your ability.”

Jones and Richardson divided representatives of the first team throughout the training camp and the first two preseason games, which Jones will now take exclusively.
Through two preseason games, Jones completed 17 of 32 passes for 245 yards without touchdowns or interceptions. Richardson left the first preseason game with an injury after only six snapshots, completing 2 of 3 passes for 21 yards.
In the second preseason game of the Colts against the Green Bay Packers, Richardson completed 6 of 11 passes for 73 yards.
Jones signed a one -year contract with the colts in the low season.

The 28 -year -old was released by New York giants in the middle of last season after 10 games, then signed with the Minnesota Vikings for the rest of the year. It did not appear in a game with Minnesota.
Jones has started 69 career games and has a 24-44-1 record. Last season, he completed 63.3% of his passes for 2,070 yards with eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. The giants were 2-8 in the beginning.
Richardson fought during his first two seasons of the NFL.

In 15 career games, Richardson has an 8-7 record, although that Mark does not completely reflect his game. The former Florida star has completed just over 50% of her passes for 2,391 yards, with more interceptions (13) than the touchdowns (11).
The 23 -year -old has been more effective as a runner, with 635 yards by land and 10 career touchdowns in his career while averaging almost six yards for attempt.
Last season, the colts ended 8-9 and were placed second in the south of the AFC. Steichen expects Jones to help them return to the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
