Carisma Carpenter is killing rumors that he will be in the next “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” restart.

The actor, better known for his role as Cordelia Chase in the original series “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”, turned to Tiktok this week to clarify the theories of fans.

“They ask me a lot: ‘Are you doing the restart?’ And I thought I would address it, ”Carpenter said in the video published on Monday. “I’m not in the restart. I’m not on the pilot. I don’t even know if the program has been collected to go to the series. I guess it will be.”

Carpenter first appeared in the program in 1997, portraying Cordelia, the sharp tongue queen of the social scene of high school that finally found himself fighting demons in more than one sense. After three seasons in “Buffy” (and four more in his spin -off “Angel), his performance won a basis of loyal fans, and a persistent hope of returning to Hellow.

Buzz’s restart intensified after Carpenter launched a Rewatch podcast, “The dog is back!” – Its title is a wink to its famous line from the third season of the program. Some fans took that as a hidden message.

“I did not intend to sound encoded in any way, referring to the fact that I was admitting to be in the restart,” Carpenter said in his Tiktok. “People were also commenting: ‘Oh, is this … you are saying …’ You know, as if it were a Easter egg to the Taylor Swift. Not at all.”

Carpenter confirmed that “he has not had conversations with the powers that will be” to include his character at this time.

The creative powers behind the restart do not include the creator of the program, Joss Whedon. In 2021, Carpenter arrived at the headlines when he accused him of being emotionally abusive in the set.

“He has created hostile and toxic work environments since his early career. I know why I experienced him first hand. He repeatedly,” he said at that time.

Now, the restart is expected to bring a new one chosen to lead the next generation, with Sarah Michelle Gellar returning in a recurring role to satisfy the nostalgia of fans.
