“As a proud Texan and conservative of a lifetime who loves our country, I am ready to fight for the principles that make Texas strong and exceptional America,” reads the statement. “Teamwork is needed to win, and I am ready to help defend President Trump’s first agenda, Texas families and individual freedom.”

Teixeira’s announcement follows the decision of the representative Chip Roy not to seek re -election while running for the office of the Texas Attorney General.
Roy, who currently represents the district, made the announcement in a shared campaign video in X last week. His video focused on preserving the legacy of the state of the lonely star of “freedom, freedom and self -determination.”
