An F-16 pilot was killed on Thursday when his plane crashed during preparations for an air show in the center of Poland, a government spokesman said.
The spokesman Adam Szłapka confirmed death in a publication on social networks. The Polish news agency PAP reported that the plane was part of the Polish Air Force.
“The tragedy in Radom, during the preparations for the air show, an F-16 plane crashed. Unfortunately, the pilot died,” Szlapka wrote in X, and added that the Minister of Defense was heading to the accident site.
No one on the ground was injured in the accident, according to a statement by the Polish army.
The videos published by Polish Media showed that the plane made an acrobatic maneuver before colliding against the track in a fireball.
