A New Zealand father who disappeared in the desert with his three children almost four years ago was probably seen in a CCTV camera during a robbery in a local store, police said.

New Zealand police launched night images on Friday that they show that it shows Tom Phillips and one of his children apparently entering a store before driving on a quadruple bicycle.

Police said the couple seemed to use an electric tool to enter a refrigerated container before leaving with groceries on the quadruple bicycle.

Police said it is believed that Phillips has been directed without success the same store in November 2023.
