Farmers Insurance has confirmed a data violation that impacts more than 1.1 million customers. The incident is linked to the continuous wave of cyber attacks related to Salesforce that have affected the main companies this year.

In a notice published on its website, the US insurance giant said that the violation occurred on May 29, 2025, through one of its third party suppliers. Farmers serve more than 10 million homes throughout the country. It offers cars, households, life and commercial insurance through a vast network of agents and subsidiaries.

“On May 30, 2025, one of the third -party suppliers of the farmers alerted the farmers of suspicious activities that involve an unauthorized actor that access one of the databases of the supplier that contains information from the clients of the farmers.” The company wrote on its notice.

According to the company, supplier monitoring tools detected the intrusion quickly, allowing containment measures to be taken. The farmers said that an investigation began immediately, notified the police and worked to determine the scope of the violation.

The research revealed that stolen data included customer names, addresses, birth dates and driver’s license numbers. In some cases, the last four digits of Social Security numbers.
