Jason Isaacs addresses

The star of “The White Lotus”, Jason Isaacs, is not too worried about the disgust of the University of Duke for his character of season 3: a Duke’s white neck criminal who abuses his wife’s Lorazepam medication, with a school shirt in the program.
The successful Hbo Show season was established in the fictional White Lotus Resort in Thailand and was filmed in Bangkok, Phuket and Koh Samui. Isaacs played Timothy Ratliff, a proud Northern Carolinian who learns during a family vacation that the FBI wants it for financial crimes.
The character, in particular, used the attire of the University of Duke during an emotionally heartbreaking scene in which he holds a gun in his head and considers that his life is removed. The scene quickly caught the attention of the Vice President of Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs of the school.
“The white lotus not only uses our brand without permission, but in our opinion it uses it in worrying images, it does not reflect our values or who we are, and simply goes too far,” Frank Tamble told News in a statement last month after the sixth episode was issued.
“Suicide is the second cause of leading death in university campuses,” the official continued.
Isaacs suspected that the university’s statement did not derive exclusively from sincere concern.
“I don’t like anyone getting angry about anything, but clearly, it was just someone who wanted to see his name online and, in some department, wanting to become viral,” Isaacs said in Wednesday’s episode of the podcast “Prestige Junkie”.
“His former students of real life are a gallery of rogues, many of them, that the notion that this character spiritually illuminated on television caused them problems is fantasy and ridiculous,” he continued.
While at least a Duke student told The Hollywood Reporter that Duke “absolutely had to say something” publicly to protect the “very strong brand” of the school, many current students told The Outlet that the Ratliff’s attire made funny memes, or was simply pleasant to watch on television.
“For me, it’s never so serious,” said second year student Alex Berkman to Thr. “It’s television.”
Isaacs gave a sartorial wink to the controversy in the projection of the end of the season, where he had a shirt with Duke’s blue devil’s pet.

“I bought the shirt because the airline canceled my flight and took my bags, and I had nothing to change in the morning,” Isaacs said in the podcast. “It was the only medium [to buy clothes from]. “

“I also thought I could cause some mischief, which I think did,” he said on the shirt.
