Swiss food giant Be protected Said on Monday that he fired his CEO, Laurent Freixe, due to an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate.
Nescafé Drinks and Purina Pet Food manufacturer said in a statement that dismissal was immediately effective. An investigation found that the romantic relationship not revealed with a direct subordinate violated Nestlé’s code of conduct.

The direct subordinate was not identified.
Freixe had been CEO for a year, according to the company. First he joined Nestlé in France in 1986, working in marketing and sales. He later became the head of the Nestlé France Nutrition Division in 1999. Freixe continued to raise the corporate ladder, becoming a regional CEO of Nestlé before being finally appointed the upper position last September.
It will be replaced as CEO by Philipp Navratil, an executive from Nestlé for a long time.
“This was a necessary decision,” said President Paul Bulcke. “Nestlé’s values and governance are strong foundations of our company.”
Navrathil began his career with Nestlé in 2001 as an internal auditor and served in a variety of roles in Central America. In 2020, he joined the Nestlé Coffee Business Unit, and in 2024, he became CEO of the Nestlé Nespress Division.
