Burning Dead in Burning Festival Sparks Homicide Research: Authorities
Reno, Nevada (AP) – A man found dead in a pool of blood is being investigated as a homicide at the Annual Festival of Burning Man Art and music in the desert of northwest Nevada, authorities say.
The authorities were alerted to the man on Saturday at the meeting at the Black Rock desert about 110 miles (175 kilometers) north of Reno.
The deputies together with the rangers of the land administration office responded and “found a single white adult man who lay on the ground, obviously deceased,” said Pershing County Sheriff’s office in a statement on Sunday.

The research has included several participants and cordon off a perimeter in the area where the body was found in the improvised camp called Black Rock City. The identity of the dead man was not known immediately, Sheriff’s office said. No other information was published.
The body was taken to the office of a coroner.
The Pershing County Sheriff’s office said it seems to be a singular crime, but urged everyone at the festival to be attentive to their surroundings and acquaintances. The festival ends on Monday.
