Airbnbs billionaire co -founder explains why he left the Democrats and was completed magician
The Airbnb co -founder Joe Gebbia revealed why he left the Democratic party and supported Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential elections, citing a particular issue as a key.
Gebbia, whose net assets is an estimated $ 8 billion, told Maga Podcaster Katie Miller that his vote for Trump emerged from the concerns he had in 2021 about the border between the United States and Mexico.
“The activity on the border caught my attention and I remember thinking:” What is happening with this issue? It seems that there is no border, “a former White House official and the wife of Trump’s White House, personnel deputy director, Stephen Miller, the most draconian anti-immigration policies of the president, told Miller, a former White House official.
Gebbia said he was looking for responses from democratic contacts, but left “without filling.” Then he resorted to the former main advisor of Trump’s White House, Jared Kushner, also and the son -in -law of the president, to whom he said: “Put me in this study plan to speak with experts in the field.”

“I remember being like, ‘Santa Vaca, this is madness,'” recalled Gebbia. “As, ‘this is not correct, this is a real problem and there is no reason why we should not enforce the laws of our country and our border.”
Gebbia said that “he began to pull that thread” and examine other problems, concluding that he could not support a part that, he claimed without offering evidence to support the statement, “wants to have an open border, which lets criminals and dangerous people in our country.”
The technology billionaire described the change as part of his “trip” from the vote of the Democrats to go to Maga and accredited his support for the current Secretary of Human Health and Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who was briefly running to President as an independent in 2024 before supporting Trump, as the entrance door to his hug of now Botus.
Kennedy’s skeptic campaign vote of “making the United States again healthy” was particularly attractive, said Gebbia, who, since Trump’s return to the position, has worked with the efficiency department of the unofficial government of Gebbia and is now the design director of the National Design Study to improve federal websites.
