RFK Jr. accuses director of lying of CDC expelled about
Susan Monaz, who was recently withdrawn from her role as director of the US disease control and prevention centers, said Thursday that she lost her work after challenging a “worrying” order of the Secretary of Health Robert F. Kennedy Jr., while denouncing “a deliberate effort to weaken the public health system and the protections of vaccines in the United States.”
“The Senate confirmed me to make sure that the impartial evidence serves the health of our nation, and for doing so, I lost my work,” he wrote in a scathing opinion article for the Wall Street Journal. “The children of the United States could lose much more.”
Monararez said that Kennedy asked him at a meeting on August 25 that quickly supports the recommendations of a vaccine advice panel composed of vaccine skeptics after the Secretary of Health replaced his 17 former members with eight selected advisors at the beginning of this year. Since then, one of them has left the group, but Kennedy has chosen seven new additional members to join the committee.
During a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee on Thursday, Kennedy denied issuing that directive to Monaz, accusing the former leader of the CDC’s lie.
“I didn’t tell him that,” Kennedy said.

In his WSJ editorial, Monarrez recalled that meeting on August 25, where he said he was told or faced.
“That meeting revealed that it was not a person or my work,” he wrote. “It was one of the most public aspects of a deliberate effort to weaken the United States public health system and vaccine protections.”
“I have gone now, but that effort continues,” he added.
The White House announced that it dismissed Monarch last week because “it was not aligned with the president’s agenda to make the United States feel healthy again.” At least four other CDC officials, including Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, who served as director of the National Immunization and Respiratory Diseases Center, also left the agency. Monarch was interim replaced by a Kennedy ally without formal medical training.

Monarch, an expert in infectious diseases, said it was imperative to have the recommendations of the vaccinated and analyzed vaccine advisory panel before any evaluation could be offered in his advice, describing that process as a key to the work and mission of the CDC.
“The CDCs cannot fulfill their obligation with the American people if their leader cannot demand evidence in decision making. If discarding evidence of ideology becomes the norm, why do parents, doctors or the public trust the guide of the CDC?” She asked.
Monarch said that public health should operate independently of politics, since he warned that those who seek to sow distrust in the shots that save lives “use a family play book: discredited research, weakens the advisory committees and use manipulated results to unravel the protections on which generations of families have trusted to keep the mortal diseases.”
“Once trusted experts are eliminated and the advice bodies are stacked, the results are predetermined,” he added. “That is not a reform. It is sabotage.”
Monarch suggested that bets are so high that the luxury of staying silent cannot be affected.
“If we remain silent, preventable diseases will return, as we saw with the largest measles outbreak in more than 30 years, which tragically killed two children,” he said. “If we act, the facts can still prevail.”
Earlier this week, nine former CDC leaders who served under democratic and republican administrations warned that Kennedy’s policies are dangerous, while more than 1,000 HHS employees now demand Kennedy’s resignation, accusing him of “compromising the health of this nation.”
