Australian authorities are investigating an American influencer who filmed fighting wild crocodiles in Queensland, condemning the “extremely dangerous and illegal” activity.

In a series of videos on his Instagram, Mike Holston, by Chesty Bare, which passes through “Therestarzann” online, fights with salt water and fresh water crocodiles.

In a publication, he immerses himself in the water, emerging holding the crocodile for his throat with blood that comes out of his elbow.

“He understood me, but I got it,” says Holston.

In another, Holston jumps from a boat to a thick river route in search of a crocodile, which then fights.

Holston has said that the videos, which have accumulated millions of points of view, were with “educational purposes.”

But the videos caused outrage in Australia, where the maximum penalty for interfering with a salt water crocodile is $ 24,800.

Queensland’s state said Wednesday that he was “actively investigating” the two videos.

“These actions are extremely dangerous and illegal, and we are actively exploring a strong compliance action, including fines to deter any person of this type of behavior,” said his environment department. “Let’s be clear: people should not try to capture fresh water or salt water crocodiles in Queensland, unless they are trained and licensed to do so.”

The state prime minister, David Crisafulli, also called the influencer a “goose.”

Holston did not respond to comments requests.

“These publications can have disastrous consequences”

Australia’s famous flora and fauna is highly protected and attempts to interfere with it can face strict sanctions.

Another American influencer caused outrage In March, after a video seemed to show a baby that bothered a baby.

And Bob Irwin, the father of the late celebrity “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, said this week that people should respect the wild life of Australia or be deported.

“People who visit our country need to respect our wildlife, or need to be uprooted by the door,” said Australian media published in a published statement.

“These publications can have disastrous consequences for both people and wildlife,” Irwin said.

Government figures estimate that there are between 20,000 and 30,000 salty water crocodiles in Queensland in a vast area known as “CROC country”.

Salad and fresh water crocodiles can measure up to 13 feet long, with male salt water crocodiles that weigh more than 600 pounds and freshwater male crocodiles that weigh up to 132 pounds,

They are a protected and vulnerable species and it is known that they attack humans.

“Due to its territorial and opportunistic size and nature, salt water crocodiles are considered an aggressive species,” says Queensland’s department of the Environment. “Basically, once these crocs reach the size of adults, any creature they can dominate is a fair game. If a human invokes the territory of a salty water crocodile, the croc can decide to attack.”

Between December 1985 and April 2024, there were 34 non -fatal attacks and 14 fatal attacks of wild salt water crocodiles in Queensland.

In August 2024, the police said the human remains were found within a great crocodile suspicious of killing a tourist In Australia.
