Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, went to the public for the first time since her husband killed two days ago, calling him a “martyr” in live broadcast comments on Friday night.
He opened his speech with thanks to the police, the first to respond, President Donald Trump and vice president JD Vance.
“The president, my husband loved him, and he knew you loved him too,” he said.
This is the first time that Erika Kirk, 36, spoke publicly since her 31 -year -old husband was shot dead while talking in front of a great crowd at the Utah Valley University campus on Wednesday.
“Never, I will never have the words to describe the loss I feel in my heart,” he continued. “Honestly, I have no idea what something of this means. I know that God does, but I don’t.”
Erika Kirk’s comments arrive the same day the authorities announced that they had captured a suspect in the shooting, Tyler Robinson, 22. He has been accused of three state crimes serious crimes: aggravated murder, which entails the possibility of the death penalty, together with the obstruction of justice and the discharge of a weapon that causes serious body injuries.
“The malefactors responsible for the murder of my husband have no idea what they have done,” he said, adding: “If you thought my husband’s mission was powerful before, you have no idea. You have no idea what you have simply unleashed throughout this country.”

The couple married in 2021 and has two children together, a 3 -year -old daughter and a 1 -year -old son. When her daughter asked him on Thursday night where she was, she said on Friday, she said: “He is on a work trip with Jesus.”
The former Miss Arizona appeared regularly along with her influential right -wing and spoke at her United States conference in June, encouraging women to seek marriage.
“For women who get married after 30, that’s fine,” he said, he added: “It’s not ideal. It is probably the best statistical position for you, but God is good.”
Speaking on Friday, Erika Kirk once again shared her beliefs about the importance of marriage and the raising of children, which was something that her husband regularly proposed.
“Charlie always said that if he ever run for a position: I know that many of you asked if he was ever going to do it, but in private he told me, if he ever run for a position, that his highest priority would be to revive the American family,” he said.
Since 2019, he has presented a Christian podcast called “Rise in the middle of the week.” It also has a street clothing line based on faith linked to a Christian ministry that directs called Biblein365, according to its website.

Erika Kirk said that her husband’s speech tour was when she was killed, although it is not clear who will head the events.
