The families of the Americans killed in Israel Slam continued the inaction of the United States:
The families of several Americans who have been killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers gathered in front of the Capitol on Tuesday to demand that the United States government responsible for themselves and Israel responsible for the lack of justice for their loved ones killed.
The press conference, led by representative Pramila Japayal (D-Wash.), Occurs days after the first anniversary of an Israeli soldier who fatally fired the activist based in Seattle Ayşenur Eygi while peacefully observed a protest in the West Bank.
“There were no requests for justice for her, she does not commit to investigating her illegal murder by Israel. This government has remained firm in her silence to our demands for an investigation since then,” said Eygi’s sister, Ozden Bennett, 26.
“What will be needed for the Department of Justice to live up to its name? Why is it worth fighting for some American lives, while others do not?” She continued. “Why is the United States government quickly act while the author is not Israel?”

The State Department, which has managed the cases of Americans killed in Israel, did not immediately respond to News themezone’s request for comments. In the past, the agency has sent questions about such cases to Israel, whose rare investigations themselves rarely lead to responsibility.
Since 2022, at least 10 Americans have been killed by Israeli violence in the West Bank and Gaza. The Biden and Trump administrations have refused to act on the calls of the families of the victims to hold Israel and conduct an independent, credible and exhaustive investigation into the incident.
“I don’t want to hear more condolences from leaders. I don’t want to read another story or meet another family that reflects our own loss,” said Bennett. “We have heard enough condolences. We have lost sufficient lives. We have demanded justice enough and we have not received anything.”
Also speaking on Tuesday they were loved ones of Floridian Sayfollah Musallet, 20, Louisianan Tawfiq Abdel Jabbar, 17, Rachel Corrie, 23, and Floridian Mohammed Ibrahim, 16, Ibrahim. Mohammed has been imprisoned by the Israeli army since February without trial, and his loved ones say he has lost a significant weight when dealing with scabies.
“All these things that taught us as children, about freedom, about humanity, does not apply only to the Israeli government,” said Tawfiq’s father, Hafez Ajaq, an American citizen who arrived in the country when he was a teenager. “They have the right and have the OK of our government to do such things and such acts without being punished, without being punished at all.”

The families emphasized that although Israeli violence against Americans has increased after Gaza invaded in 2023, such incidents have occurred for years. Cindy Corrie talked about her daughter, who tried to prevent Israel from destroying the house of a Palestinian family in Rafah 20 years ago when the soldiers run over her with her excavator. Since then, their parents have fought for justice, not only in the case of Rachel, but for all Americans who have been killed by Israel without any responsibility.
“Rachel’s father, who is here, often points out that the United States government sends two very different messages to Israel,” said Cindy Corrie. “One is the diplomatic request of investigations. The other is the billions of dollars in continuous military aid. What message do you think the Israeli government listens?

“We believe that if there had been real consequences in Israel for the murder of Rachel and for any of the murders of the American citizens who followed, perhaps the other families with us today would not have had to make this trip to tell the stories of their loved ones killed by soldiers and Israeli settlers,” he said.
