The football player of the Emanuell Cooks community university died of medical complications after a football match at Mississippi this week.
The death of Cooks was announced in a statement issued by Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) on Friday.
Cooks of Elba, Alabama, was an offensive liner of the first year, according to its profile on the MDCC website.

The university statement does not specify the cause of death of chefs.
“Our entire Trojan family is devastated by this loss,” said MDCC president Steven Jones, in a press release. “At this time, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with the family, teammates, coaches and friends of Emanuell. We will meet as a community to support each other through this tragedy.”
