Bill Maher hits ABC with 1 alternative name for the network after Kimmel Oster

The host of “Real Time”, Bill Maher, condemned ABC on Friday to suspend “indefinitely” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” The program was removed from the air on Wednesday after Kimmel criticized the right response to the fatal shot of the right -wing activist Charlie Kirk.

“24 years ago, until the day I made comments in ABC that canceled me from that network and Jimmy Kimmel took my space,” Maher said on Friday. “Did you know that? In ‘politically incorrect?’ Oh yes, they canceled me before canceling even had a culture. “

“This shit is not new,” he added. “It’s worse, we’ll get to that, but you know. ABC, they are stable. ABC represents ‘always being stunned.’ So Jimmy, friend, I’m with you, support you, and on the positive side, you don’t have to pretend you like Disneyland.”

Walt Disney Company, who operates, said the theme park, ABC acquired in 1995.

The old Maher show on the network was canceled in 2002 after arguing that the kidnappers involved in the September 11 attacks were not cowards. Kimmel’s show was taken after “The Maga Gang” is desperate to paint Kirk’s alleged man “as more than one of them.”

Maher said on Friday that Kimmel was “wrong” when he said it, but that “he shouldn’t lose his job” for comments. HBO host joined a growing choir of democratic experts, legislators and celebrities, and even some conservative voices, denouncing dismissal.

The president of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, an ally of President Donald Trump, had warned ABC leaders that there would be consequences for the network and its affiliates if they did not take measures to discipline Kimmel about his comments.

Kimmel’s suspension occurred after Nexstar Media Group and Sinclair Broadcast Group, the largest owners of local television stations in the United States, said they would remove the program after the uproar. Nexstar is currently looking for an important fusion that requires the approval of the FCC.

“I think we have moved the goal’s posts so much, due to what Jimmy Kimmel was fired, we forgot that as abhorrent … it would be to make fun of someone’s death, even if you did not agree with them, completely abhorrent, but not illegal,” Maher said on Friday. “I’m sorry.”

He pointed out: “And this idea they have, that they seem to be pressing, that we cannot even pronounce his name? As if he were the prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings are with him? No.”

Trump, Vice President JD Vance and the White House Cabinet Deputy Director Stephen Miller, promised to take energetic measures against the “radical left”, quickly blaming Kirk’s murder.

The former political analyst at MSNBC, Matthew Dowd, was fired from the network last week after suggesting that Kirk’s rhetoric could have contributed to his death. Maher seemed equally frustrated with those comments, meanwhile, as it was about the expulsion of Kimmel.

“Matthew Dowd said:” You can’t say these horrible words and then not expect horrible actions to occur, “Maher said Friday. “Yes, you can! I hope horrible actions occur. I think this is horrible when you open this window.”

“As, ‘I didn’t like what he said, it was violent’, and this and that,” he continued. “Irrelevant! Irrelevant. We do not shoot people in this country, and we do not defend him, and we do not make fun of his death.”
