West Palm Beach, Florida (AP) – Donald Trump’s doctor says that the president chosen by the elderly is “completely fit” to serve as commander in chief when the White House launched the results on Sunday of Trump’s recent physical exam.

Trump, 78, is 20 lighter pounds since his check as president in 2020 showed him to border obesity.

His doctor, the captain of the Navy Sean Barbabella, cited an “active lifestyle” that “continues to contribute significantly” to the well -being of the Republican President. Trump turns 79 on June 14.

In a three -page summary of Friday’s integral exam, the doctor said Trump is “totally suitable for executing the duties of the commander in chief and the head of state.” Trump weighed 224 in the check -up, below 244 in that physique more than four years ago.

The summary noted that Trump previously underwent cataract surgery in both eyes, but did not include a date or dates. A common procedure among aging people, surgery generally implies eliminating a cloudy eye lens and replacing it with an artificial lens to help clarify the vision.

In July 2024, according to the report, the then candidate Trump had a colonoscopy that found a benign polyp and the condition called diverticulosis. It is a common condition in which the intestine walls weaken with age. It can lead to inflammation, although most people with it never experience any problem.

Trump again approved a cognitive evaluation test of Montreal, a brief detection test to evaluate different brain functions, Barbabella wrote. The test includes remembering a list of spoken words and listening to a list of random numbers and repeating them back, among other questions.

Known as Moca, it is the same test that Trump took in 2018 and then told in an interview in which he described recite a list of words in order: “Person. Woman. Man. Chamber. TV”.

The president was also examined on Friday by depression and anxiety, and had normal scores in questionnaires for these conditions, according to the report.

Trump can be the oldest person chosen for the highest position in the nation, but he is four years behind the Democrat Joe Biden, who was 82 years old when his presidential mandate ended in January.

Barbabella wrote that Trump remains in “excellent health” with a “robust”, pulmonary, neurological and general “cardiac function.

The doctor said that Trump’s days include participating in multiple meetings, public appearances, availability of media and “frequent victories in golf events.” Trump is an avid golfer who said he recently won tournaments played in clubs he owns in Florida

Trump cholesterol levels have improved over time, helped by Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe medications.

In his physique in January 2018, his total cholesterol was 223. At the beginning of 2019, reading reached 196 and stood in 167 in 2020. Today is 140. Ideally, total cholesterol should be less than 200.

Its blood pressure was 128 more than 74. That is considered high, and it is likely that people in that situation develop high blood pressure unless measures are taken to control the condition.

Trump has a heart rate of 62 beats per minute, in line with the previous tests. A normal resting heart rate for adults varies from 60 beats to 100 beats per minute, and in general, a lower rate implies a better cardiovascular aptitude.

Trump also takes aspirin, which can reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

The exam found less sun damage to Trump’s skin and some benign lesions, but he doesn’t care about injuries or growth. He also confirmed scars on Trump’s right ear of a gunshot wound during an attempt to murder a Butler campaign rally, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.

Barbabella conducted and supervised Trump’s medical exam and said she included diagnostic and laboratory tests in addition to consultations with 14 specialists.

Barbabella is a decorated Navy doctor who specializes in emergency medicine and tactics and served several service tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. It has a purple heart and a prize of Legion de Mérito, two of the highest honors of the military.

Barbabella is also the third consecutive osteopathic doctor in serving as a doctor for the president, after the Biden doctor and one of the doctors who took care of Trump in his first mandate. Barbabella directed a naval health clinic in Havelock, North Carolina, before Trump took advantage of it for work.
