Bangkok – A massive sink swallowed part of an important road on Bangkok on Wednesday, interrupting traffic, damaging the infrastructure and causing evacuations in the surroundings.
There were no casualties, but the collapse damaged three vehicles, said regional governor Chadchart Sittipunt, added that officials believe that the sink was caused by construction work at an underground train station.
The collapse videos show a section of the road sinking slowly, knocking down several electricity posts and damaging water pipes. The cars tried to go back as the hole became bigger and completely cut the four -lane road. An hole edge stopped in front of a police station, exposing its underground structure.

People were evacuated from the police station and other buildings. A nearby hospital said it would close outpatient services for two days, although officials in the city of Bangkok said the hospital structure was not affected.
Officials cut electricity and water in the area as a precaution. Chadchart said the crews were working to fix the hole as quickly as possible, fear that heavy rains can cause more damage. Bangkok is experiencing its rainy season, which usually extends from May to October.
Emergency workers used a crane with a large harness to remove a truck that was left precariously on the edge of the precipice, and at least another truck could be seen inside the hole of approximately 160 feet deep.

Noppadech Pitpeng, a 27 -year -old hospital worker who lives nearby, told the News French news agency that he was scared by a rumbling sound on Wednesday morning, who aroused him.
“The sound was like an electricity post collapse and my entire floor shook,” he told News while leaving his building, carrying some clothes in a cube.
