Republican National Committee Chairman Talks About the Wild Way Trump Eats His McDonald’s Order
President Donald Trump built his own McDonald’s mega sandwich while eating at the fast-food restaurant chain during the 2024 election campaign, according to Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters.
Gruters, a Trump ally, said on the “Chambers, Changes & Conversations” podcast that he did not expect to witness the amount (and food) the president eats while traveling on his plane.
“He had hot fries waiting for him from McDonald’s… And then he had a Filet-O-Fish, a Quarter Pounder and a Big Mac, and I think he combined two of them,” said Gruters, who did not reveal which two sandwiches Trump made.
He added that the president also drank an orange soda. However, he did not specify the exact drink Trump selected from McDonald’s (the chain typically serves Fanta orange soda, as well as a still HI-C Orange Lavaburst juice).
“I wonder, ‘How does a guy as veteran as him get away with eating all this McDonald’s, probably constantly?’” Gruters said.
“I ate two sandwiches and was sick as a dog for about 24 hours.”
He proceeded to describe the experience as “unique” before suggesting that McDonald’s pay Trump for his love of the chain.

Trump’s alleged order from McDonald’s, a chain he loved during his time in the White House and during his election campaign, appears to be a change from his order detailed by campaign insiders in 2017: two Big Macs, two fish filet sandwiches and a chocolate milkshake.
For 2022, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner revealed a different version of the president’s order: a Big Mac, a filet of fish, French fries and a vanilla milkshake.
After his election victory last year, Trump was photographed alongside Elon Musk, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), his son Donald Trump Jr. and future Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. while dining at McDonald’s aboard “Trump Force One.”

The president appeared to have a Big Mac, a filet of fish and chips in front of him, along with what looked like a bottle of Fanta orange soda on the side.
The news came just days after Trump declared that Kennedy wanted to “help make America great and healthy again” and would help protect the United States from “food additives.”
