When it comes to sniffing feet on national television, Drew Barrymore stays free and fantasy-free.

On Friday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” the trio of hosts, including Sunny Anderson and Ross Mathews, revisited the now-viral segment from Oct. 7, in which Anderson and Matthews boldly sniffed Barrymore’s feet.

“I started getting alerts that this had gone viral: every publication, every magazine, every website… We were smelling your feet. People like some things,” Matthews said, trying to regain her balance.

Anderson added that her friends were quick to criticize her: “My DMs were flooded with friends saying, ‘So you’re going to smell her feet like that? You’re going to smell her feet?’ I was like, ‘They don’t smell like anything!’ They really don’t!

Barrymore, mortified by the attention, asked if people were “upset” by the segment. Matthews reassured her, explaining that it was simply unexpected content for people who casually changed channels without knowing what they were getting into.

Then things took a sharp left: Matthews suggested Barrymore return the favor by sniffing both hosts’ feet.

Barrymore quickly responded, “Yes.”

“Thank God I got a pedicure yesterday, are you serious?” Anderson said. “I’m not even wearing socks, Drew! I’m so nervous!”

After smelling Anderson’s feet, Barrymore declared them “odorless.”

“There is no smell!” he said, before pretending to eat Anderson’s toes, calling them “beautiful.”

Then the tables turned and it was time for Matthews to step into the spotlight.

“In my defense, these are fresh out of the oven!” said.

While both Barrymore and Anderson agreed that there was “nothing” to smell, Matthews admitted that the entire experience left him “terrified,” even calling it “invasive.”
