Mariska Hargitay says she knew instantly 2

The “Law & Order: SVU” actress stopped by Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast on Tuesday and dished on two fellow artists she met who made her say “Holy God.”

Hargitay first told Poehler about her encounter with actress Abigail Breslin, who was 7 when she appeared on “SVU.”

“She was very young on the show. She kept dancing between takes… kind of a dance, and I started doing it with her,” Hargitay said. “It was a fun little nursery rhyme. I don’t know what it was, but I’d just do it and then they’d say ‘Action!’ And I swear to God: I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it.”

Hargitay said Breslin would “turn around” and instantly embody his character.

“One tear and the lips start to tremble: no acting,” he recalled. “I remember saying, ‘What the fuck? Are you like Meryl Streep?'”

After the director yelled cut, Hargitay said, Breslin would revert to being a normal 7-year-old girl and “go back to her nursery rhyme.”

“I thought, ‘Oh, there’s something. This kid is touched.’ It’s so magical,” Hargitay said, before revealing who was the second actor she met who hit her.

“Another person I called, and I remember telling him, is Meghann Fahy,” Hargitay said of the star who later rose to fame in “The Bold Type” and “White Lotus.”

“When he did the show, I said, ‘Let me tell you something. I’ll tell you right now: You’re going to be a big movie star. You’re going to be a big star.'”

Aside from Fahy’s obvious “talent” and “light,” Hargitay said, she “was very bright internally.”

“And there have been people who have come to where you go, ‘Oh, oh, wow.’ And it’s almost like a beautiful, effortless light, and it’s very exciting,” he said.

Now, when he sees Breslin, who was nominated for an Academy Award at age 10, and Fahy, who won a Screen Actors Guild award, Hargitary reacts with joy.

“It’s very exciting to see them go on and say, ‘I called him, I called him!’”
