Ariana Grande seemed visibly uncomfortable when an interviewer kept calling these singers her
This week, Ariana Grande sat down with internet star Evan Ross Katz to talk about Wicked: For Good, touring, music, and more.

During the talk, they also talked about Ariana’s early mentors in the music industry. “I’m very lucky that my idols have been very kind to me,” he responded. “I remember Madonna being very friendly immediately. I think she was one of the first people to come up and welcome me warmly, and it was just great.”

She also mentioned Mariah Carey and Beyoncé, recalling a time when Beyoncé personally invited her to the set of her music video. “I was there in the corner thinking, ‘Why am I here?'” Ariana joked. “[Beyoncé] She was just kind, she just gave me a little advice, I asked her, and she was very kind. Even if I’m not very close, it was very nice of him to do that.”

Evan then asked, “How about we become artistic equals to some of these people?”

Ariana immediately shook her head and said, “They are not the same.”

“Okay, well, I can say the same,” Evan responded. “You don’t have to say it.”

Ariana frowned at the comment.

Then he glanced at Evan.

Then he shrugged and returned to the conversation. But his face said it all.
