Critics scoff
Critics mocked President Donald Trump on Tuesday for a series of messages he unleashed as polls closed and it became clear that Democrats were sweeping nearly every major race, often by wider margins than expected.
First, he absolved himself in a message that cited anonymous “pollsters” while apparently criticizing Republicans in Congress for the current federal government shutdown.
He wrote on his Truth Social website:

Then he changed the subject and devoted himself to one of his favorite activities: bragging about television ratings.

He then fired off a pair of messages demanding that Senate Republicans abolish the filibuster, making it easier for the GOP to pass laws while still controlling Congress.
He urged them to pass “election reform,” which Trump said means eliminating mail-in voting and enacting stricter voter ID laws:
