Raven-Symoné says she has to separate the “creator from the creation” when thinking about Bill Cosby’s legacy and the way he lived.
The longtime actor explained why he won’t let the revelations that Cosby was a sexual predator erase his impact while appearing on Wednesday’s episode of the “Hate to Break It to Ya” podcast, where he told host Jamie Kennedy, “The Cosby Show” deserves “all of its flowers, no matter what happened next.”
“Separate the creator from the creation. And that’s where I live,” he said, “You have to do it because the creation changed America, it changed television.”
Crediting Cosby with paving a way for Black people to work in entertainment both on and off screen, the “That’s So Raven” star also couldn’t deny that he has been accused of “horrible things.”

“That’s your staff [life]”Raven-Symoné said of the allegations. “So personally, keep it there, and business-wise, know what you did there too. Like you said, they can both live, and I think our culture is right, you know, to not do anything wrong. Don’t do anything wrong personally. “You just can’t go wrong.”
