Serena Williams said her dance during the mid -time performance of Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl was “absolutely not” a DISS in the rumored ex -boyfriend Drake.

“I would never do that,” Williams told Time in an interview published on Wednesday. “And that was sad, someone thought that. I respect how they could. Obviously I can see how someone would think that. But absolutely not. I have never had negative feelings towards him. We have known him for so many years.”

During Lamar’s part -time performance at the February Super Bowl, Williams, along with the backup dancers, Crip walked while Lamar acted “not like us.” The DISS track towards the fellow rapper Drake includes the line, “Better Not Speak on Serena”, apparently in response to Drake’s line, “sidebar, Serena, her husband to Groupie” in her 2022 song “Middle of the Ocean”.

Williams’ appearance made waves, since many suspected that it was destined to be a disgust in the song theme.

The tennis icon told Time that he argued with his team if he should participate in performance, considering that he would probably attract some kind of negativity.

“Who would have thought that a Compton tennis player would be considered one of the best players of all time?” Williams told Time. “I was just putting an exclamation.”
