President Donald Trump raged at reporters during a media question-and-answer session Sunday as he returned to the Washington area after a weekend at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
First, he criticized a reporter who asked about Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who earlier that day warned that a new investigation into the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein could be used as a “smokescreen” to prevent the release of new documents in the case.
“Well, I don’t want to talk about it because fake news like you, you’re a terrible reporter, and fake news like you keep bringing that up to deflect the tremendous success of the Trump administration,” he said.
Trump, who initially promised to release documents related to Epstein, a former friend, has since fought to block them, dismissing the case as a “Democratic hoax.”

Just a few minutes later, Trump lashed out again.
A reporter asked about Tucker Carlson, who has faced criticism within conservative circles for his recent friendly interview with white nationalist Nick Fuentes.
“What role do you think Tucker Carlson could play in the Republican Party and the conservative movement in the future?” the journalist asked.
Trump praised Carlson for saying “good things” about him and boasted about how many page views his interview with Carlson received. That’s when someone, perhaps the same journalist who had asked about Epstein, interrupted with a follow-up question about Fuentes.
Trump interrupted her.
“Will you let me finish my statement? You guys are the worst,” Trump said. “You’re with Bloomberg, right? You’re the worst. I don’t even know why they have you.”
It is not clear from the images who Trump was addressing in any of the cases.
Trump said he had “some great interviews” with Carlson.

“You can’t tell him who to interview,” Trump said. “If you want to interview Nick Fuentes, I don’t know much about him, but if you want to do it, spread the word. Let them, you know, people have to decide, ultimately, people have to decide.”
Trump dined with Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago in 2022 when Kanye West, also known as Ye, brought him as a guest. Trump later claimed he didn’t know who Fuentes was.
