On Thursday, President Donald Trump launched into a lengthy rant against immigrants, former President Joe Biden, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and more in a Thanksgiving message released in the final minutes of the holiday.
In two posts totaling more than 500 words, the president also said he will “permanently stop migration from all Third World countries,” end all federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens, and deport a wide range of immigrants for a variety of reasons.
“Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERYONE, except those who hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything America stands for. They won’t be here for long!” the president wrote in a message published at 11:26 p.m.
The president often celebrates holidays with ambiguous messages. Last Thanksgiving, for example, he wished a happy holiday to the “lunatics of the radical left,” while celebrating Christmas 2023 with a “SHOT IN HELL” message. He dedicated his Father’s Day message in 2024 to the “degenerates of the radical left” and in 2021 to the “losers of the world.”
His Thanksgiving message this year began on a similar note:
“A very happy Thanksgiving greeting to all our great American citizens and patriots who have been so gracious in allowing our country to be divided, disorganized, divided, murdered, beaten, assaulted and ridiculed, along with other foolish countries around the world, for being ‘politically correct’ and just plain STUPID when it comes to immigration.”
He attacked Somali immigrants in Minnesota, called Governor Walz “seriously retarded,” and claimed, without evidence, that Rep. Omar, who was born in Somalia, “probably entered the United States illegally.”
Trump criticized Somalia as “a decadent, backward, crime-ridden nation, which in essence is not even a country.”
He said he will deport “anyone who is not a net asset” to the United States along with anyone “incapable of loving our country.” He vowed to “denaturalize immigrants who undermine domestic tranquility and deport any foreign national who is a public charge, a security risk or not compatible with Western civilization.”
He wrote:
“These objectives will be pursued with the goal of achieving a significant reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process. Only REVERSE MIGRATION can completely cure this situation.”
Trump this week escalated his attacks on immigrants after two National Guard members were shot in an ambush in Washington, DC on Wednesday.
One later died from her injuries, while the other was in critical condition Thursday night.
The suspect in the attack is an Afghan immigrant who entered the country legally as part of a resettlement program under the Biden administration and was granted asylum by the Trump administration earlier this year.
