An audience member asked the host if he ever went to trivia nights at local bars. The question was funny considering that, before replacing the late Alex Trebek in 2020 as host of the long-running game showJennings was considered one of the greatest “Jeopardy!” contestants of all time, having risen to fame with an unprecedented winning streak of 74 consecutive games.

In response to the question, five shocking words came out of Jennings’ mouth.

“Just do tricks with those hoes?” Jennings said, causing the studio audience to burst into laughter.

“I have to say, I don’t play a lot of bar trivia,” Jennings continued. “It’s a bit of an awkward situation. It’s strange if I win, it’s strange if I lose, I don’t think anyone is happy either way.”

Jennings’ “hoe” response was a callback to an answer he gave during his legendary first appearance on the show in 2004.

The clue read: “This term for a long-handled gardening tool can also mean an immoral pleasure seeker.”

“What’s a hoe?” Jennings responded.

“Woah!” Trebek responded to Jennings’ spicy response. “They teach you that in school in Utah, huh?”

The correct answer was: “What is a rake?”

Because of this, social media users ate up Jennings’ response: “Just do a trick with those hoes” during the Q&A session.

“The last thing I expected Ken to say about $300.” an Instagram user wrote.

“I think it’s Ken ‘those rakes trick’ 😂,” another user joked. “Wowaaaa! They teach you that in school in Utah, huh?” someone else broke.

“Alex would be proud,” said another user.

Jennings and “Jeopardy!” posted the clip of Jennings’ prank after Harrison Whitaker recorded his final game of an impressive 14-game winning streak. In its final episode, Whitaker revealed during interviews who wanted to use his winnings to open a bar so he could host trivia nights with brutally difficult questions, as he has received complaints in the past for hosting games that are too difficult.
