Kate Winslet is opening up about women changing their appearance through weight-loss medications and injectables, and she feels strongly about it.

“Oh, it’s terrifying,” Winslet said in an interview with The Sunday Times published over the weekend. “I don’t think so, not you! Why?”

“It’s devastating,” the actor added. “If a person’s self-esteem is so tied to their appearance, it’s terrifying.”

“And it’s disconcerting because I have moments where I think it’s better when I see actresses at events dressed however they want, whatever the way,” she shared. “But there are so many people who take weight loss medications. It’s very varied. Some choose to be themselves, others do everything they can not to be themselves.”

“And do you know what they’re putting in? [their bodies]? The disregard for one’s own health is terrifying,” Winslet added. “It bothers me more now than ever. “It’s fucking chaos out there.”

He explained that, from his perspective, “what I like most is when your hands get older.”

“This is life, in your hands. Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70 years old, and what bothers me is that young women have no idea what it really means to be beautiful,” added the Oscar winner.

Winslet speaks candidly about issues surrounding women’s bodies, as the “Titanic” actress faced intense scrutiny over her own appearance after catapulting to fame in the ’90s.

“I was constantly told I had the wrong shape,” Winslet told Vogue back in 2023. “I was constantly told I would have to settle for less.”

The actress previously shared in another Sunday Times interview that she was once told to audition for “fat girl” roles in acting school, and people were still cruel when she arrived in Hollywood.

“When I was younger, my agent would get calls saying, ‘How’s your weight?’ “I’m not kidding,” he said in an interview in 2022. “That’s why it’s comforting that this has started to change.”
