President Donald Trump reflected Tuesday on what it would be like if he had married his sister while making an unfounded claim about Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.).

At a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump ramped up his hateful rhetoric about immigrants from “dirty” countries and focused on Omar, a Somali immigrant who became a U.S. citizen in 2000. He alleged, without evidence, that the congresswoman was in the country illegally, prompting cheers from MAGA faithful to deport her.

“We should get her out of here,” he said. “She married her brother to get in, right? She married her brother. Can you imagine if Donald Trump married his sister? Beautiful. She’s a beautiful person. If I married my sister to get my citizenship, do you think it would last about two hours? Or would it be anything less than that? She married her brother to get in. Therefore, she’s here illegally. She should get out. Kick her out. She keeps complaining.”

Attendees erupted into a chant of “Send her back!”

Omar has vehemently rejected her critics’ persistent claim that she married her brother as “absolutely false and ridiculous.”

Omar, a frequent target of Trump, called him a “national disgrace” in a response to X.

“Trump’s obsession with me is beyond strange,” he wrote. “He needs serious help. With no economic policies to promote, he is resorting to regurgitating bigoted lies. He remains a national disgrace.”

Trump has one living sister, Elizabeth Trump Grau. His other sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, died in 2023.
