Taylor Swift says she isn’t bothered by critics who wish she would disappear from the spotlight.

Appearing on Wednesday’s episode of “The last show with Stephen Colbert,” the pop star shared a message for people who hope she “just goes away.”

The topic arose after Swift told Colbert that what she “admires” [the] The most important thing in people is professional longevity.”

“Longevity of friendship, longevity in your relationships, how do you maintain a good thing?” she continued. “I think there are certain corners of our society that really love that and admire the longevity.”

The “Bad Blood” singer later noted that it is not a universal feeling.

“There are also corners that say, ‘Give someone else a chance. Can’t you just leave so we can talk about how good you were?’ And I’m like, I don’t want to, you know? she declared, to applause.

Swift’s critics complain that she is “overexposed” amid persistent media coverage of her.

The 14-time Grammy Award-winning artist sparked a media frenzy after her first appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game in late September 2023, where she cheered on her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce. His presence significantly increased the NFL’s viewership as its fans began tuning in, leading to unprecedented ratings.

Elsewhere in her interview with Colbert, Swift gushed about Kelce.

“Getting engaged to the love of my life, getting all my music back, those were two things that could never have happened, just never could have happened,” he said, referring to the buyback of the rights to the master recordings of his first six albums in May.

She added: “Those two things could never have come into my life, and I’m so grateful for the fact that both things happened. And my fans are the reason I was able to get my music back. That’s how I spent the Eras Tour money.”
