Jimmy Kimmel holds back tears in an emotional speech to his fans:
Jimmy Kimmel He put aside his sarcasm to deliver a sincere and uplifting message to his audience Thursday night.
The comedian began his monologue for the year’s final episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” by thanking his viewers for their unwavering support during a year filled with chaos and tragedy, which also included the President donald trump-designated chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr failed attempt to cancel his show.

“And this has been a strange year,” Kimmel began. “It’s been a tough year. We’ve had some lows and some highs for me.”
At that point, Kimmel’s voice began to shake as he held back tears.
“Uh, maybe more than any year in my life. But on behalf of all of us, I’m already crying. I’m sorry.”
Despite getting emotional, Kimmel kept going.
“On behalf of all of us who attended the show, I just want to say that we appreciate your support, your enthusiasm, and not just seeing you this year. You literally dug us out of a hole and we can’t thank you enough, personally and professionally.”

The “hole” Kimmel referred to was his one-week suspension by ABC in September. The suspension came after criticism of Kimmel’s comments related to the Murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.. Kimmel, a relentless critic of Trump who has been a thorn in the president’s side for years, suggested that many on the right were “desperately trying” to use Kirk’s death “to characterize this kid with Murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them.” Although The shooter’s motives remain unclear.Carr said Kimmel was trying to “directly mislead the American public” with his comments.
“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said before ABC announced Kimmel’s suspension. “These companies can find ways to change behavior, to take action, frankly, on Kimmel, or there will be additional work for the FCC in the future.”
Carr’s mob comments, and his close ties to Trump, sparked a massive backlash, with many against it. both sides of the hallway seeing the measure as a threat to the First Amendment.

some fans retaliated by boycotting ABC’s parent company, Disneyand several of them quickly canceled their subscriptions to their streaming services.
After Kimmel thanked his fans Thursday night, he spoke more broadly about how American life has changed dramatically since Trump took office in January.
“I know there are much more difficult jobs, but this is not an easy job to do. And sometimes it feels like we’re going around in circles,” Kimmel said. “You see so many horrible, destructive acts, all this harm that we inflict on ourselves on purpose. And it can make you feel crazy trying to understand these things that are so clearly wrong.”
Continuous: “You know, you grow up reading ‘Superman’ and you learn to value truth and justice and the American way. And then you start to realize, especially over the last year, that you don’t know where that all went. You don’t even know what the American way is anymore.”
Given this, Kimmel decided to offer some hope:
“But when I hear people tell me that they watch our show, and the shows that my friends and colleagues watch on other channels, and that it makes them feel less crazy, it also makes me feel less crazy. And I think that’s an important thing. And I also think it’s important that we, As Americans, let’s let our friends in other countries who watch the show on YouTube, Instagram, Hulu, wherever, know that many of us don’t agree with what’s happening. There is still much more good in this country. how bad And we hope that you will be patient with us during this prolonged psychotic episode that we find ourselves in.”
