Former Vice President Al Gore is comparing the administration of Donald Trump with the Nazi party of Adolf Hitler of the 1930s, an analogy that has become increasingly common during Trump’s second presidency.

The environmental democrat argued in an event for the San Francisco Climate Week that Republicans are “trying to create their own favorite version of reality” blaming immigrants for global problems, as well as the ultra -nationalist and xenophobic aggressors of World War II.

“I understand very well why it is wrong to compare Adolf Hitler’s third Reich with any other movement,” Gore on stage said on Monday, Politico reported. “It was exclusively evil, childbirth. I understand it. But there are important lessons in the history of that emerging evil.”

Trump’s slogan, “Make America Great Again,” left many color voters in 2016 worried about what exactly their choice would mean. He recently deported a Maryland man without due process, and is challenging the Supreme Court by refusing to facilitate his return.

The White House recently confirmed that Trump is also exploring how to deport US citizens.

“We have already seen, by the way, how populist authoritarian leaders have used migrants as scapegoats and have fueled the fires of xenophobia to boost their own increase in energy,” Gore said Monday. “And the search for power is what this is about. Our Constitution, written by our founders, intends to protect us against an identical threat to Donald Trump.”

Gore, a climate activist for a long time that he lost the controversial elections of 2000 against former President George W. Bush, said Trump believes that global warming “is a hoax invented by the Chinese to destroy US manufacturing.”

Trump blamed foreign nations for the shortage of United States factory jobs and imposed a 145% tariff on all Chinese imports earlier this month.

The Trump administration has also fought to deport students born abroad who participated in protests against the bombing of Gaza de Israel, establishing a dangerous precedent for the eradication of freedom of expression and feeling against war on university campus.

“Was [German philosopher Jürgen] Habermas’s mentor, Theodor Adorno, who wrote that the first step in the decline of that nation to hell was, and I quote: “The conversion of all the issues of truth into matters of power,” Gore said in his speech, Politico reported.

“He described how the Nazis, and I quote again,” attacked the heart of the distinction between true and false, “he continued.” End quotes. The Trump administration insists on trying to create its own favorite version of reality. “

Former President Barack Obama and former state secretary Hillary Clinton recently shared similar concerns. On Sunday, Trump threatened to process the media that in fact informed that the immigrant Kilmar Abrego García was deported to El Salvador due to an “administrative error.”
