Jasmine Crockett burns JD Vance for a minor insult towards her
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) fiercely attacked Vice President JD Vance after he made a cheap dig about her appearance and personality while criticizing Democrats during Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest on Sunday.
On the final day of the conservative organization’s Phoenix festival, Vance disparaged his political rivals for considering “California liberal” politicians like Golden State Gov. Gavin Newsom and former Vice President Kamala Harris for the party’s 2028 presidential bid.
After telling the crowd that Democrats were “not sending their best,” he complained about Crockett, who announced his attempt to unseat incumbent Republican Sen. John Cornyn (Texas) earlier this month.
“And Jasmine Crockett. Oh, Jasmine Crockett,” the vice president said to a chorus of boos. “The record speaks for itself. She wants to be a senator, although her street-girl personality is as real as her nails.”

Crockett had no patience with Vance’s pettiness and applauded his comments about X almost immediately.
Criticizing the memoirist-turned-politician for how he ended up as President Donald Trump’s vice president, he said, “Imagine commenting on someone’s nails while simultaneously ignoring that the only reason they got their ‘dream’ political job was because their boss incited a violent mob who wanted to hang his predecessor for, oh, I don’t know, honoring his oath to the Constitution?!”
It was a painful reminder of how Vance largely rose to office after Trump broke with former Vice President Mike Pence for refusing to help overturn the 2020 presidential election.

In his post, Crockett went on to tell Vance that he had a lot of problems of his own to focus on, adding, “How about you stop worrying about me, until we’re in the Senate together and working to stop your boss from bankrupting our country while participating in the biggest corruption scheme we’ve ever seen?”
Crockett has stood firm when Republicans have used superficial, racially charged insults to tear down his credentials.
When Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made a rude comment about Crockett’s “false eyelashes” during a House Oversight Committee hearing last year, the Texas Democrat responded by mocking Greene’s “poorly shaped, bleached blonde, tomboyish body.”
