Premier League soccer star reveals faithful message after scoring his first goal in almost a year following ACL injury

After scoring a great goal in a Premier League match on Tuesday, Gabriel Jesús made it clear who he praises.

The Arsenal forward scored the dagger in the 78th minute to put his team up, 4-0, against Aston Villa and increase their lead for first place in the standings.

However, after scoring, Jesus revealed a t-shirt that read, “I belong to Jesus.”

They asked Jesus about his shirt and his answer was frank.

“Jesus saved my life from the beginning, when I was born. I didn’t know it yet. Through the difficult times of my life, I realized that we are nothing without Jesus, so I want to glorify His name. He made a big difference in these difficult times. So now, in the bright moment, I want to glorify His name,” Jesus said.

“To start the year the way I was playing, the confidence came back. And for some reason the Lord stopped me, and then I was able to do better as a person, as a human being. I think it’s amazing how Jesus works in our lives. Sometimes you keep questioning yourself, doubting yourself, but you never know what’s going to happen, what Jesus has prepared for you. So I’m just saying keep going, trust the process, and trust Jesus.”

The goal was Jesus’ first in almost exactly one calendar year after suffering an ACL injury in January. He was left out of the team’s squad for the UEFA Champions League, but can play in the team’s other matches.

Fellow Brazilian soccer star Kaká wore a similar jersey in 2007.

Jesús got a yellow card for taking off his shirt, but it was worth it.

Jesus is expected to play for Brazil in the World Cup this summer. He was on the team in 2022, but missed action due to a knee injury suffered in the group stage.
