Drew Barrymore is no stranger to the center of attention, but these days, he is shining inward, reflecting on the toughest chapters of his life.
“I think I’m finally coming to a place where I can look back,” Barrymore shared in an episode on Tuesday of the “Drew Barrymore Show.”
The actor, who has been in the public eye since starring in a commercial at 11 monthsreflected on his childhood in Hollywood, a time marked by more movement than full attention.
“Since I was a child, I just run and I never stopped running,” he said. “And we all go, go, go, we are all working so hard to solve things, grow, live life.”

Barrymore then opened on the relentless pressure to do everything and be everything for everyone.

“I think it is something really important for everyone to be able to do, not only stop escaping from things, and not necessarily running towards something, but just being able to get away and reflect and appreciate, and sustain with that all the trauma … and also endures all the joy that comes with him,” said Bertinelli.
“And instead of trying to purge the trauma of our system, maybe simply sit next to the side where he is no longer an enemy. And you can reflect and say: ‘This helped me to do me who I am today’.”
