Bradley Cooper addresses speculation that he
Bradley Cooper says he has received many compliments on his appearance amid a flurry of speculation that he has gone under the knife.
Appearing on Monday’s episode of the “SmartLess” podcast, the “Silver Linings Playbook” actor briefly mentioned recent rumors that he underwent plastic surgery, but notably stopped short of outright denying them.
The topic came up when co-host Will Arnett, who worked with Cooper on the new film “Is This Thing On?”, was asked to name something about his co-star and co-writer that most people don’t know.
“I said, ‘Well, there’s a lot,’” Arnett said, according to an excerpt of the interview featured on E! News. “And then I was going to say, because we keep reading… everyone thinks Bradley had plastic surgery. Everyone keeps saying that. I’m like, ‘What people don’t know is that he hasn’t!'”

At that point, Cooper intervened and suggested that the speech had taken him by surprise.
“I’ve had a few people come up to me in the last few weeks,” he said, “and say, ‘Oh, you look good!’”
Arnett, however, chimed in to say that the rumors “made me angry.”
“People say that all the time and it’s really funny,” he explained. “Everyone thinks they know. You know, you read that nonsense.”
Cooper’s appearance came under intense scrutiny at the 2025 New York Film Festival in October, where “Is This Thing On?” had its world premiere. Photos of the actor posing on the red carpet with his co-stars in the film, including Arnett and Laura Dern, led some online to suggest that he had undergone a facelift and other cosmetic procedures.
Chat about Cooper’s appearance aside, “Is this thing on?” has received widespread praise, with Rolling Stone calling it “a totally unexpected and left-wing triumph.”
The comedy-drama, which Cooper directed from a script he co-wrote with Arnett and Mark Chappell, follows Alex Novak (Arnett), a newly single father of two who turns to stand-up comedy after separating from his wife, Tess (Dern). It is Cooper’s third directorial feature following 2018’s “A Star is Born” and 2023’s “Maestro.”
